About this project

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change. GCF helps developing countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change. It seeks to promote a paradigm shift to low-emission and climate-resilient development, taking into account the needs of nations that are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts.\n\nThe GCF Readiness programme is a funding programme to enhance country ownership and access to the Fund. It provides resources for strengthening the institutional capacities of National Designated Authorities or focal points and Direct Access Entities to efficiently engage with the Fund. It also assists countries in undertaking adaptation planning and developing strategic frameworks to build their programming with the GCF.\n\nUNOPS assists the work of the GCF through grant support management services.\n
