Grant Management to Support the Implementation of the Colombian Pilots of Financial Innovation – Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme of the Green Climate Fund (GCF)

About this project

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness programme is a funding programme to enhance country ownership and access to the Fund. \n\nUNOPS assists the work of the GCF through grant support management services. The objective of this grant is to support the implementation of tools, methodologies and financial instruments for the mobilization of funding from Colombian Financial Institutions towards a portfolio of pilot projects that can deliver robust impacts on mitigation and adaptation to climate change. \n\nThese projects are structured in 3 areas prioritized by the Financial Sector. The Colombian Pilots of Financial Innovation seek to generate private and public innovative collaboration schemes that may address specific public policy priorities, such as the Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement. At the same time, they are designed to identify and take advantage of business opportunities and sustainable investment from the financial and productive sectors. \n\nThe Readiness support will be implemented by Asociacion Bancaria y Entidades Financiarias (Asobancaria), a Colombian association under the guidelines from the government that takes part in the project through the representatives from the different Ministries and organizations.
