About this project

UNOPS provides procurement and distribution support to the National Sustainable Development Fund (FNDS), under the leadership and oversight of Government of Mozambique (GRM) Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER), for the implementation of specified activities and components of the World Bank funded project The NORTHERN MOZAMBIQUE RURAL RESILIENCE PROJECT (MOZNorte) in the selected districts at the Provinces of Niassa, Cabo Delgado and Nampula.\n \nThe project development objective is to improve access to livelihood opportunities for vulnerable communities and management of natural resources in selected rural areas of Northern Mozambique, and aims to improve the resilience of vulnerable communities in selected landscapes of Northern Mozambique.\n\nThe overall objective of the UNOPS project is to provide procurement and distribution support\nto the FNDS, which is under the leadership and oversight of GRM/MADER, for the implementation of specific activities and components of the Northern Mozambique Rural Resilience Project (MOZNorte). UNOPS assists FNDS in the procurement of 23,872 Agricultural Input kits (seeds, fertilizers, and other chemicals) as defined by FNDS and distribution to 239 Extensionists in delivery places chosen by FNDS all located in 3 Provinces.\n \nGiven the high vulnerability of Northern Mozambique to climate and geophysical hazards, as highlighted in the Climate and Disaster Risk Screening Report carried out for the project, the design takes…
