About this project

Nigeria Erosion & Watershed Management Project aims to reduce vulnerability to soil erosion in targeted sub-watersheds. The Federal Ministry of Environment is the lead implementing agency for NEWMAP, in collaboration with Federal and State Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Local Governments, communities, and Civil Society Organizations. \n\nUNOPS will assist the Government in ensuring effective implementation of the Nigeria Climate Adaptation – Erosion & Watershed project by providing reviews and pre-clearance of processes and documents in areas of procurement, environment & social safeguards, selection and verification of schemes, and project monitoring and supervision.\n
