About this project
The Integrated REDD+ Program for Strengthening Local Actors in the Development and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources in the Former Plateau District (PIREDD/Plateau) in Mai Ndombe Province, is a continuation of a previous project aimed at consolidating and ensuring ownership of sustainable natural resource management practices by local state technical services. The project will focus on capacity building, investments in planned areas with existing local governance structures, and performance-based incentives to promote adherence to community-agreed management rules. The project aims to improve the livelihoods of rural populations through sustainable agricultural and agroforestry investments, consolidate wood energy stocks and natural regeneration areas, and reduce deforestation and degradation.
