About this project
UNOPS supports the improvement of medical waste management in healthcare facilities across various provinces of Pakistan, providing these facilities with essential waste treatment infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and safe disposal of medical waste, and thereby mitigating environmental pollution and health risks. By incinerating waste, the project also conserves valuable land resources, especially in areas where land availability is scarce. Additionally, comprehensive training for healthcare workers on proper waste segregation and handling will be conducted to mitigate infection risks and foster a culture of safety.
