Digital Sao Tome and Principe

About this project

The proposed project is designed to strengthen the digital foundations of São Tome and Principe by increasing high-speed internet access and improving government capacity to provide and deliver digital public services.The project is composed of the following components:Component 1: Digital access (US$2.35 million equivalent). This component will focus on supporting wider access and adoption of broadband through broadband market reform and school connectivity investments. By strengthening the enabling environment for broadband market development and data-enabled services, activities financed will help catalyze increased access to and affordability of telecommunications services.Component 2: Data foundations for digital public service delivery (US$12.65 million equivalent). This component will focus on supporting greater government capacity to provide services digitally through targeted investments in data governance and systems, including legal, policy and strategic frameworks and targeted investments to enhance cybersecurity and data protection capabilities, as well as key platforms such as a national data exchange layer and data hosting infrastructure. Activities are aligned with STP's national Digital Government Strategy and complementary to existing initiatives. By enhancing the digital capabilities of STP's public administration the project will expand the country's capacity to provide digital and citizen-centric services.Component 3: Component 3: Housing and Population…
