RMI Multisectoral Early Childhood Development Project - II

About this project

The proposed Additional Financing (AF) to the Multisectoral Early Childhood Development II Project will support the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) to sustain, consolidate, and deepen progress toward universal coverage of multisectoral Early Childhood Development (ECD) services while strengthening the transition of key interventions and systems toward long-term government ownership. The AF will extend the project closing date by 23 months, from December 31, 2026 to November 30, 2028, while retaining the existing Project Development Objective, component structure, and implementation arrangements. The AF will continue to support the achievement of the Project Development Objective through investments across health, nutrition, early learning, social assistance, and systems strengthening. Building on implementation experience and established delivery platforms under the parent project, the AF will finance proven, prioritized, and implementation-ready activities that strengthen the quality, coverage, and equity of essential ECD services and address remaining service delivery and systems gaps.The AF will continue to benefit the same primary beneficiary groups as the parent project, namely pregnant women, women of reproductive age, children aged 0–59 months, their caregivers, and vulnerable early-years families throughout the RMI, including the Neighboring Islands.
