About this project
The project aims to help ensure the meaningful contribution of women and youth from the Casamance region to the Plan Sénégal Émergent [emerging Senegal plan] in terms of food self sufficiency for primary goods. The project’s activities include: (1) providing technical assistance in implementing a decision making information system regarding agricultural land; (2) training the local partner’s agricultural advisers on geolocation and on measuring and interpreting the boundaries of agricultural land; (3) providing technical assistance in developing a form describing the boundaries of plots that explains and shows the uses and area occupied by the producers; and (4) providing technical assistance in developing training modules to explain to young people and women about access to farm credits and land use applications. Cégep Limoilou’s primary local partner in carrying out the project activities is the Société de développement agricole et industriel du Sénégal [industrial and agricultural development corporation of Senegal], which is also a beneficiary for all capacity building programs. The secondary partners are Fédération des Producteurs des Bassins de l’ANAMBE (FEPROBA) and Kissal Patim
