About this project

This grant represents Canada’s long term institutional support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). UNRWA uses these funds and other donors' funds to achieve its mandate, which is to provide state-like essential services to 5.9M Palestinian refugees in four host countries – Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. These essential services include primary and secondary education, primary health care, aid to livelihoods, protection, infrastructure and camp improvement, and waste management services.
