About this project

This project aims to strengthen community resilience by integrating young people, particularly young women, into a sustainable, inclusive economic system that promotes adaptation to climate change. Project activities include: (1) establishing a system to finance technical and vocational training; (2) providing technical and vocational training for vulnerable young people, particularly women, in high-potential sectors of the blue and green circular economy; (3) building the capacity of young women and men in ecosystem management, biodiversity conservation, and restoration; (4) implementing nature-based solutions and sustainable practices for biodiversity conservation and restoration, led by young women; (5) creating a support unit to facilitate the professional integration of graduates in sectors related to the blue and green circular economy; and (6) establishing a sustainable entrepreneurial financing system for graduates. The project seeks to strengthen the skills and resources of 46,061 people in 2 coastal regions of Senegal (the Saloum Delta and the River Delta), distributed across the following age groups: 34,066 young people aged 15 to 34 (50.5% women and 49.5% men) and 11,994 women over 35. Indirect beneficiaries total an estimate 48,061 people (50.5% women).
