About this project

This project aims to increase food security, nutrition and climate resilience in Central America. Project activities include: (1) providing climate information services and equipment; (2) training and capacity-building exercises on climate-smart agricultural practices; (3) implementing anticipatory actions including preparedness and action plans (e.g. productive inputs, transfers, and forecast-based insurance); (4) working with financial institutions to make their financing products more accessible to smallholder farmers, women and youth; (5) training in financial literacy, technical assistance, workshops and business fairs that targets smallholder women farmers and women-led enterprises that allows them to access financial products and services; and (6) strengthening capacity of national and local government authorities to support social protection systems and programs. The project anticipates a reach of 5,800 smallholder households, consisting of approximately 28,400 people across the region.
