About this project

August 2026 - Catastrophic flash floods triggered by a glacial collapse struck northern Nepal, causing widespread loss of life and extensive damage to homes, critical infrastructure, and livelihoods across the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. The disaster left affected communities with urgent humanitarian assistance needs. With support from Global Affairs Canada, the World Food Programme (WFP) is responding to the humanitarian needs arising from the flash floods by providing emergency food assistance and logistical support. Project activities include: (1) providing food and nutrition assistance; (2) facilitating the movement and delivery of relief supplies; and (3) supporting logistics operations.
