About this project
The FAO in Lebanon promotes an integrated water management and an increase in food security. The project aims at increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the irrigation-based production, at strengthening the resilience of farmers and agricultural seasonal workers and at further developing conflict resolution mechanisms over scarce water resources. Switzerland contributes its know-how for a more sustainable, data-based use of groundwater, both for drinking and irrigation purposes. Given the context, FAO combines proven humanitarian, development and peacebuilding instruments.
