About this project
The linear economic model of production and consumption, in which goods are manufactured from primary raw materials, sold, used and thrown away at the end of their useful life, is no longer sustainable in the face of massive ecological crises and dwindling primary raw materials. In recent years, Colombia has laid the political foundations for green growth strategies and a circular economy. The module contributes to the implementation of these strategies and focuses on strengthening the quality infrastructure for the circular economy and the production and use of green hydrogen. Despite its positive development, the Colombian quality system SICAL is not yet able to support the political requirements for a circular economy and the development of the green hydrogen sector adequately and in line with demand with quality assurance services. The aim of the module is to develop competent metrological services, accreditation procedures and technical regulations and standards for an efficient circular economy and the hydrogen sector. The aim is to strengthen cooperation between SICAL actors, strategically develop decentralization, digitalization, communication and gender equality and develop competent SICAL services for selected sectors of the circular economy and for the production and use of green hydrogen.
