Increasing the resilience of people and Systems in Drought-Stricken Regions of Ethiopia (UNICEF)

About this project

The aim of the project is to increase the resilience of drought-affected communities and improve their access to integrated basic services by strengthening cross-sectoral systems for the sustainable provision of basic social services in the targeted areas of Afar, Oromia and Somali. The project targets the population in six selected districts (Woredas) in the regions of Afar, Oromia and Somali, which are particularly affected by drought (around 250,000 people in total).In particular, the project provides for multisectoral measures in the area of basic social services and food security. Key results are: - individuals, households and communities have improved access to integrated basic services, - the functioning and adaptability of national and sub-national systems for the provision of basic services has been strengthened, - National and sub-national capacities to use data-based information to promote sustainable livelihoods have improved.
