About this project
Guatemala is one of the countries most vulnerable to natural disasters in the world. Despite this, there are no effective policies in the field of prevention or reconstruction after earthquakes. The project builds on previous experiences that contribute to disaster prevention through the dissemination of earthquake-resistant and locally adapted construction methods. It influences public housing policies in favour of particularly poor families and conducts further training for rural communities. The target group is local leaders.
