About this project
The traditional way of life of small-scale fishermen in Brazil is recognized and enjoys special protection. However, this protection is often not guaranteed by state authorities. The existence of the communities is threatened by land speculation, mining, energy and tourism projects. The partner organization supports fishing communities to stay on the land, to organize themselves and to preserve traditional ways of life and economy
