About this project
In the province of Sindh, the majority of the population lives from subsistence agriculture. The project area has been severely affected by floods and is suffering from climate change. Heat waves, changes in rainfall and climate-related temperature increases have led to land degradation, loss of agrobiodiversity and increased water scarcity. The project aims to help people cope with the challenges of climate change and improve their livelihoods. Women and smallholder farmers are the main target group of the project. The following activities are foreseen: 1) Rehabilitation of damaged rural agricultural infrastructure 2) Strengthening the capacity of community organizations in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and mitigation. 3) Improve the livelihoods of the rural population by improving agricultural production, livestock production and vocational training.
