Building resilience of children and adolescents to the consequences of armed conflict and climate change in Cabo Delgado

About this project

The objective of the project is to strengthen the psychosocial development and resilience of children and young people in Cabo Delgado who are affected by the impact of Islamist terror, armed conflicts, cyclones and the coronavirus pandemic. To this end, gender-specific PSS services and safe spaces are being set up and supplemented by capacity building in mental health and social cohesion for local stakeholders. In addition, a community-based case management system for cases of child rights violations is being installed. As part of a holistic project approach, alternative and climate-resilient sources of income in the areas of agriculture and livestock farming are being established and serve as an anchor point for the promotion of community structures for peace dialogues and conflict management.
