About this project
Measure 1: The populations awareness of the causes and consequences of climate change and local adaptation solutions will be increased by training 200 producers and 300 female producers in the use of climate information for their decision-making, by sensitising them to taking out agricultural insurance to cope with climate change and by educating them about the diversification of agricultural production. In addition, a partnership is being established with the National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology to give producers access to climate information and weather forecasts via an app. Meetings to share experiences and 5 campaigns to raise awareness among opinion leaders and local authorities on climate change and food security are also being organised. Measure 2: In order to strengthen the target group in the use of seeds adapted to agroecological conditions, the availability of certified seeds and the authorisation of new, suitable seed varieties will be ensured. In addition, producers will be involved in the policy through meetings and workshops. Measure 3: In order to use methods for upgrading agricultural products, 10 facilities for processing agricultural products will be built and producers will be trained in processing mechanisms. They are also informed about the economic benefits of processed agricultural products and partnership agreements are concluded with the private sector to sell the products.
