About this project

The project aims to promote the use of gender-sensitive approaches in agricultural and food systems and governance in Kenya, both at national and regional levels in Kiambu County. It will work directly with 2627 food and nutrition security stakeholders. At the local level, two gender transformative approaches will contribute to the success of the project: Community Conversations and Gender Action Learning (GALS). Community champions are selected and trained to act as agents of change. To achieve this goal, the inclusion and participation of women in the sector will be strengthened, as well as the adoption and implementation of gender approaches. In addition, accountability and complaint mechanisms for the right to adequate food will be strengthened, as well as the capacity of implementing partners in the area of gender equality.
