About this project
The Cape regions of South Africa are particularly vulnerable to climate change. Neoliberal industrial agriculture with devastating effects on the environment exacerbates the situation and leads to the abuse of workers and the commercialization of food. This makes it more difficult to achieve global development goals, especially poverty reduction for the rural population. The project uses agroecology as an agricultural practice to improve the food security and food sovereignty of rural workers and smallholder farmers. Communities and alliances are mobilized for more effective collective action to pursue the desired land and agricultural transformation leading to sustainable systemic and structural changes.
