About this project
85% of the area of the project region has suffered from a record drought in the last three years, the worst in the last 60 years, and have been hit by cold climate and floods as well. Climate phenomena have become an integral part of local local weather dynamics and have a negative impact on the poverty conditions of rural families. As only way to achieve real development it is essential to create capacities for individual and community resiliencel. Therefore the development of ecological, productive and organisational practices should be improved. With the creation of local capacities, the aim is to enable poor smallholder families to better adapt to change, to improve the quantity and quality of their produce and, by maintaining a sustainable rural life, to develop prospects for a better future of their homes. The planned project measures focus on the one hand on the family development approach and on the other hand on the establishment of girls and environmental clubs at schools and colleges. It is planned that the project participants will create capacities within the framework of family development workshops in order to be able to live sustainably in the prevailing circumstances and generate a family income.
