The Plan also underlines the importance of energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in public buildings, which account for around 20 per cent of all energy consumption. In addition, the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy in cities and public buildings reduces costs, creates jobs, drives economic growth and improves the quality of life.
