About this project

A central aspect of the PMPI networks project is to influence legal and regulatory frameworks for more equitable and sustainable development while protecting human rights and the natural environment. There are a number of landmark legislative initiatives and recently enacted laws that PMPI aims to support and strengthen through its lobbying and advocacy work. Other important approaches to support and strengthen the lobbying and advocacy work is to spread the understanding of true sustainability and holistic development among the general population and to increase the capacity (e.g. with regard to the ‘Right To Say No’ approach) and support local communities in asserting their right to self-determined sustainable development and protection of their natural livelihoods.
