About this project
Rural communities face a range of problems. These include pressure from investors and corporations with loss of land, the fertility of intensively used land is declining, the effects of climate change are increasingly being felt, and government programmes that are not effective. By using and expanding traditional knowledge, acting in solidarity with peer groups, making more effective use of government resources and managing natural resources sustainably, the livelihoods of these farming communities in the project area can be secured.
