About this project
The project he project contributes to improving the nutrition and income of farming families by developing the productive, entrepreneurial and commercial skills of farmers and cassava processors. It is aimed directly at 180 cassava producers as well as groups and associations in which families who grow, process and consume cassava are organized. Against the backdrop of the deteriorating socio-political situation in the project country, projects that improve regional food security have proven their worth. In the project country, over 50% of the population is not adequately nourished and more than 25% are in an acute hunger crisis. Supporting local production is an increasingly important challenge in a country that is no longer able to feed itself. The interest of the population in cassava processing and especially in income-generating activities in the countryside is high. The upcoming financing will focus on the aspects of marketing and distribution and provide the existing cassava farms with the necessary technical and business management knowledge so that the population, together with their cooperatives, will be able to take over the processing of cassava independently in the long term, even without external support. Due to logistical constraints, the project works with two branches in the North and in the South in order to ensure good technichal assistance,
