About this project
The south-west of Colombia is a region particularly affected by armed conflict due to its geostrategically important location. In this context, the project executing agency advises organisational processes of smallholder, Afro-Colombian and indigenous communities and supports them through rigorous documentation and remembrance work, organisational strengthening and a strategy of visibility and lobbying at national and international level. Through continuous grassroots work and presence in the territories, the project organiser plays a mediating role between the perpetrators of violence and those affected, who are exposed to the disputes over control of legal and illegal economies. The support provided by the project executing agency aims to strengthen the communities in the defence of their living spaces and to consolidate the processes.
