About this project
The conditions for agriculture in the project area have become much more difficult due to extreme weather events caused by climate change and increasing drought. Smallholder families have repeatedly had to contend with high crop failures in recent years. This not only affects their economic situation, but also their food security. The lack of water and animal feed has also led to high losses of animals, which traditionally form the families reserves. The aim of the project is therefore to ensure that smallholder families in the project region and the wider local population can feed themselves with healthy food from their own agroecological and climate-resilient production and maintain harmonious relationships with each other and their environment. Measures include technical and practical workshops and advice on methods of agroecological production, water management, climate resilience, nutrition, marketing and community organization. In addition, circular cisterns, agroforestry systems and vegetable gardens with bird protection nets are being built.
