About this project
The aim is to strengthen the resilience of the communities affected by mining in the areas of the Carajás Corridor. They are sensitized to a critical debate on the impacts of mining and agribusiness as well as climate change and trained to prevent violations by mining and agribusiness in the Carajás Corridor and to advocate for compensation for damages. Among other things, legal support is provided for ongoing cases of human rights violations, workshops are held on relevant topics, grassroots communicators are trained and case studies and research are carried out. Audio-visual material is also produced. These target group-related measures are flanked by lobbying activities at local, regional and federal level. The target group are local leaders from social movements, residents associations and trade unions, this involves around 500 families (around 2,000 people). Indirectly, around 3,000 families (around 12,000 people) are reached.
