About this project

The project works with students, teachers, parents and local school advisors to ensure healthier, sustainable livelihoods. School gardens and Food Forests are established and managed through School Permaculture Clubs. Better seed management and sustainable crop and livestock production as well as biofertilizer and water harvesting methods help to diversify diets beyond the usual maize, and reduces reliance on external aid. The project shows how diverse, nutritious foods can be provided on formerly barren and dry land, addressing malnutrition and supporting regular meal programs.
