About this project
The projects address the connection between indigenous territories and climate change: Where indigenous people have vested land rights, significantly less land is deforested. Indigenous people play a key role in the fight against climate change. Indigenous and smallholder communities are committed to the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity, water storage, community-based forestry and crop diversification. Smallholder agriculture promotes biodiversity, avoids agricultural toxins and restores soil fertility.
