About this project

The project contributes to building Egypts resilience to climate change by strengthening youth-led civil society organizations (CSOs). The aim is to empower young people to develop and implement local climate adaptation measures, engage in relevant networks, and positively influence Egypts climate policy. In the governorates of Cairo, Assiut, and Beni Suef, 20 CSOs will be selected and trained in youth participation and climate adaptation. Participatory action research led by youth will identify local challenges and solutions to climate change. Workshops on climate adaptation, advocacy, and soft skills will be held for other young people. Targeted grants will support 25 youth organizations to promote climate-resilient development and adaptive capacity. Based on the research findings, the youth-led CSOs will conduct advocacy activities and develop recommendations for local policies. An advocacy event presents the results and initiatives to decision-makers and stakeholders. Networking events bring together youth-led CSOs, local organizations, and government/private actors. The COP model will be implemented with Egyptian youth, ensuring their participation in local, national, and regional activities related to COP29/30.
