About this project
The project objective is to strengthen the resilience of two indigenous communities in Central Kalimantan to the impacts of climate change through a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach. The project will be implemented in Mawas, a peatland area that has been severely affected by the impacts of climate change. The project involves collaboration with various community groups, and local governments agencies. Project activities include training different stakeholders on climate change vulnerability as well as climate hazards, climate change resilience, and implementation of a pilot climate change adaptation program. In addition, disaster management plans, contingency plans, and action plans are being developed to reduce disaster risk. Adaptation strategies for sustainable livelihoods are being implemented.
