About this project
Pakistan faces economic and climate challenges that require a shift to a green economy, for which workers with green skills are needed. The project aims to enhance civil society engagement and the socioeconomic resilience of youth in 15 districts in KP, Punjab, and Sindh provinces by promoting green skills within the vocational training system and subsequent income generation. Close cooperation with provincial Vocational Education and Training Authorities and civil society organizations promotes the integration of green skills into the vocational training system. The project improves the ability of vocational training institutes to teach green skills by closing gaps in teacher expertise and infrastructure, thus fostering that training institutions offer high-quality, demand-driven courses. Further, a contribution to better coordination and knowledge exchange between public and private actors in the vocational training system shall be made. In addition, the project strengthens the institutional and technical capacities of civil society organizations, including the project partners, to promote green vocational training initiatives and enable them to facilitate green skill development and income generation for young people, as well as influence vocational training policy initiatives.
