About this project

The main objective of the Ecowomen for CAR project is to improve the socio-economic situation of 900 vulnerable members of 30 womens groups and their families, 30 representatives from 10 environmental protection committees and 30 other members of the stakeholder network (government, NGOs, farmers associations, CSOs, marginalized groups, etc.), 23 employees of local partners as well as 3,000 students from 10 elementary schools in the target areas, through initiatives to promote and protect the environment and good agro-ecological practices in Bangui and the surrounding rural areas. These groups are trained and equipped to adopt and disseminate environmentally friendly practices, including the use of improved stoves and agro-ecological techniques. In addition, the project supports awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns involving local stakeholders, authorities and civil society organizations to strengthen environmental governance. By engaging women and youth as key actors, the project aims to reduce deforestation, improve local livelihoods and promote sustainable natural resource management while empowering marginalized groups and increasing community resilience to climate change.
