About this project

The project aims to strengthen the resilience of marginalized rural communities in Sindh, Pakistan, against disasters and sustainably improve their living conditions. Four key areas of action are addressed: Community Development: Village committees are established and strengthened to create participatory development plans. These plans aim to improve the livelihoods of the population. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): Hygiene training, particularly on general and menstrual hygiene, promotes health-conscious behavior. At the same time, infrastructural measures such as water reservoirs and filtration systems improve access to safe drinking water. Food Security and Livelihoods: The introduction of kitchen gardens enables the cultivation of vegetables for both personal consumption and sale. Additionally, training on livestock management is conducted, and animal health workers are trained as multipliers. Literacy courses provide basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. Disaster Preparedness: Emergency and evacuation plans are developed at the village level, while targeted infrastructural measures increase the resilience of the communities. Through this integrative approach, the project contributes to the long-term social and economic stability of the affected communities.
