PROSPER: Promotion of resilient and food-secure communities in disaster-prone areas in Yogyakarta Province

About this project

The project aims to enhance the resilience and food security of seven communities in disaster-prone areas of Yogyakarta Province over a 47-month period. Key interventions include boosting agricultural production and market access for farmers, empowering women through entrepreneurship support, improving disaster management and resilience practices, and promoting awareness, inclusivity, and community engagement to ensure the participation of vulnerable groups in decision-making. Strengthened civil society organizations receive access to complementary support from government programs. The project will target 2,730 vulnerable individuals and build the capacity of farmers, women, and disaster taskforce groups, while also promoting the active participation of other vulnerable groups including elderly and persons with disabilities. Additionally, 21 civil society structures in the target communities will receive capacity-building support. Representatives from various government agencies, academe, private sector, and other stakeholders willsupport to the project through their expertise.
