About this project

Turkana West is characterized by water scarcity, land degradation, and declining agricultural productivity. The project aims to strengthen the resilience of eight communities in Turkana West through income diversification, food security, and the protection and restoration of natural resources, with a particular focus on soil quality. Key measures include improving access to safe water, promoting vegetable cultivation, and introducing energy-efficient stoves that also serve as chicken incubators. In addition, cultivation of vetiver is supported to enhance soil fertility and ensure fodder availability for livestock.
