About this project

The project strengthens civil society and creates sustainable economic opportunities for young people-particularly girls, young women, and youth with disabilities-in Blitta, Togo. At its core is a socio-ecological approach focused on technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial training. Young people are supported in establishing inclusive agricultural cooperatives in fish farming, mushroom cultivation, poultry farming, and organic vegetable production. At the community level, the project mobilizes families, local authorities, and traditional leaders to challenge discriminatory norms and promote the economic participation of marginalized youth. Climate change is addressed through the integration of environmentally friendly practices in training and production, aiming to enhance ecological sustainability and youth employability. To promote financial inclusion, the project improves access to credit and tailors financial products to the needs of young people in rural areas. At the same time, it engages in advocacy to make public financial services more inclusive and youth-oriented. Through training, mentoring, cooperative development, and institutional capacity building, the project drives social change, empowers disadvantaged groups, and strengthens their resilience to poverty, migration, and radicalization.
