Strengthening strategic legal advocacy for environmental justice, territorial integrity and adaptation to the climate crisis in Colombia

About this project

The project organization works in urban and rural areas where armed conflict, extractivism and the consequences of the climate crisis are clearly felt. In this context, the partner works with local organizations towards a socio-ecological transformation, which includes adapting to the climate crisis and defending and preserving territories at both local and national level. Specifically, the aim is to train the locally affected population on the topics of the climate crisis and socio-ecological transformation so that they can make independent proposals for adaptation measures. This is to take place at a local level as well as articulated with other institutions at a national level. There are also plans to introduce cases of collective climate action at a legal level. Measures include further training, network meetings and the development of strategic plans.
