About this project

The project region is strongly characterised by unfair land distribution and guerrilla presence. Gender inequality is also still a major problem. On the one hand, the project aims to expand cooperation with women human rights defenders in the region and to raise awareness at a social level, as well as to empower women and young people in rural areas in particular. The project also aims to support smallholder organisations in becoming more sustainable and, in view of the climate crisis, more competitive and to strengthen their capacity to represent their interests. Awareness-raising and network meetings take place, as well as support in cases of gender-based violence, right through to legal prosecution. In the agricultural sector, production plans are drawn up, training courses are held regarding climate change adaptation and agroecological cultivation methods are implemented.
