About this project
The indigenous communities in the project region are massively threatened in their individual and collective human rights by the structures of organised crime and the interests of national and international corporations. Due to their traditional way of life and language, they are structurally discriminated against and have virtually no access to state services and judicial structures. The aim is therefore to strengthen local organisational structures and empower them to defend their human rights autonomously. The target group are indigenous families in communities affected by land conflicts and displacement in the Sierra Tarahumara. Further training measures for the defence of human rights, advocacy and awareness-raising campaigns as well as humanitarian and legal aid measures are to be carried out.
