About this project
The rural population in Paraguay is particularly affected by poverty, negative environmental impacts, the climate crisis and land conflicts. Despite the good potential of sustainable smallholder agriculture, the Paraguayan government is focussing on agro-industrial and export-oriented agriculture. In order to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged population groups in rural areas (indigenous peoples and smallholder families), social actors from civil society are being networked with one another. Agroecological production and marketing are strengthened through training and the exchange of experience. Networked organisations of producers and civil society organisations jointly carry out actions to shape policies for greater food sovereignty and security.
