About this project
The project holder makes an important contribution to strengthening the legal security of the smallholder and traditional population and to preserving the ecosystem in the states of Acre and the southern state of Amazonas. Qualified grassroots and effective lobbying work is dedicated to sustainable land use practices, the creation of agroecological markets and strengthening the protagonism of the target groups, especially young people and women. In around 30 communities with 1,500 families and 6,000 individuals, the CPT accompanies the demarcation processes and the families affected by the violence of eviction and land rights violations. Through training in the area of self-care, they are strengthened and take a self-organized approach to implementing their participatory demands. The target groups also develop income-generating alternatives to ensure food security and climate justice in harmony with holistic ecology. The main measures are field visits, public hearings, lectures and training, formulation of complaints and monitoring of land conflicts. In addition, emergency interventions in communities affected by climate change and advocacy activities are necessary.
