About this project
The heavily indigenous rural regions of the project country are affected by extreme poverty and high levels of conflict. The aim of the project is to contribute to the food sovereignty and social resilience of local communities by establishing agroecological cultivation methods and integral community organisation. The target groups are smallholder farming families from various local Mayan ethnic groups affected by poverty. In order to achieve the project objective, practical training courses on the introduction of agroecological cultivation methods, workshops on community organisation and staff training measures are to be carried out. In addition, relevant sustainable technologies such as dry toilets, water filters, savings kitchens and community tree nurseries are to be introduced.
