About this project

The nutritional situation of families in the urban poor neighbourhoods of Greater Rio de Janeiro is very poor. The aim of the AS-PTA project is to support disadvantaged population groups in setting up family and community vegetable and fruit gardens in their communities, improving their production methods, obtaining organic certification, developing sales markets and lobbying for appropriate public policy. This is achieved through training, on-site technical advice and the organisation of exchange and networking meetings.
