About this project

In north-eastern Nigeria, the living conditions of the rural population are severely affected by inadequate water supply, the effects of climate change, ethnic and religious conflicts, and violent activities by terrorist militias such as Boko Haram. The aim is to strengthen resilience and adaptability to climate change. Funding is provided for the construction of shaft and bore wells and VIP latrines, well deepening, training courses on hygiene promotion and improved sanitation, tree planting campaigns and the production of environmentally friendly briquettes, as well as psychosocial counselling. The target group is the rural population, with a focus on women and young people.
