Strengthening agroecological production and solidarity-based marketing through local smallholder networks in El Salvador

About this project

In the project region, the majority of the population lives from small-scale farming. Climate change, soil depletion and rising costs are currently leading to steady impoverishment of the population and a decline in production. By establishing agroecological advisory services through a local network of promoters, combined with the promotion of innovative business ideas and collective savings groups, especially for women and young people, the project attempts to open up new future prospects in agriculture for the local population. In doing so, increasing attention is being paid to integral support for social dynamics within communities and individual families, going beyond purely technical production issues. Training courses, practical workshops and exchanges of experience are held on topics such as climate/environmental protection, agroecology, solidarity economy and gender equality.
